Project Description: The second Website Blog post asked students to analyze a song of their choice in detail, synthesizing observations about Harmony, Rhythm, Melody, Texture, Timbre, and Form in a visually-informative Song Form Chart diagram. As Song Form Charts are a very important analytical tool in a popular/electronic music theorist's toolkit, much emphasis was placed on creating a clear, concise, and informative chart that visually approximate the listening experience. Additionally, students wrote brief descriptions of the song's context, musical context, and social impact in the style of Liner Notes to enhance listeners' engagement and appreciation.
